WEDDING CEREMONY MUSIC
Your special day...
Your wedding ceremony is an opportunity for you to let your personalities shine through to your family and friends who have gathered to celebrate this special day with you.
This page is meant to be a guide to give you some suggestions for possible ceremony music or to possibly get you brainstorming about other music that is not listed that you may like to incorporate into your ceremony. Depending on where your ceremony is being held, music selections will often need to be approved by the presider. In the same regard, some presiders will be more open to secular music than others. If there is a piece of music you would like to use during your ceremony that is not listed here, I am happy to cater to your requests as much as I am able to do so.
Pricing: Base fee is $175
Additional fees added for travel, ceremony sites that do not have a piano or adequate keyboard available (I have my own equipment that I can transport to and from the ceremony site for an additional fee), rehearsal attendance and rehearsal time with other musicians.
Processional-Typically there will be two songs selected for the processional- one for the wedding party and one for the bride. Some people choose to have the seating of the mothers, grandmothers, etc. as part of the processional. In that case, a third song is sometimes chosen or the same song is used for them as for the bridal party.
Responsorial Psalm- used most frequently in the Catholic ceremony between the first and second readings
Ceremony music (non secular)- lighting of the unity candle, preparation of the gifts for communion, communion, etc. These selections are appropriate for any type of ceremony
Ceremony music (secular)- The following selections may require approval by the presider especially if the ceremony will be held in a Catholic church. Typically, any of these options would be approved as a prelude piece prior to the ceremony. The options for this category are endless!
